The Importance of Maintaining Your Garden Furniture

Long-lasting wooden garden furniture is furniture that’s well cared for. It all starts with protecting it using the right products.

Applying the Protector

Make sure the wood hasn’t been factory-treated with a Protector. If it has, wait for it to wear off naturally, usually within 3–4 months. First, ensure the boards, once installed, are clean and the wood grain is open so the Starbrite outdoor wood protector can penetrate deep into the fibers. This is the key to effective, long-lasting protection.

Once the wood is completely dry, the grain open and free from any dirt or wood dust, you can apply the Protector.

Allow at least 24 hours of dry weather with no rain so the Protector can fully cure.

Shake or stir the container well before use.

Work in small sections using a brush or roller, making sure to spread the Protector evenly and apply only a minimal amount of product.

Long-term effectiveness depends on how well the Starbrite outdoor wood protector penetrates the wood fibers!

The Protector should be dry to the touch in about 30 minutes at an average ambient temperature of 18–20°C. If not, wipe off any excess product with a clean cloth.

Apply a single, very thin coat. Do not try to saturate the wood. Avoid applying in high heat or direct sunlight.
